I grew up in a Christian home. Though I didn’t really understand what that meant until I was older, it laid a foundation in me that would later shape my life for Christ. When I hit the summer before my junior year of high school, God shook me from the inside out while at Kanakuk Kamp. My love for God and ministry grew while at camp and after returning home, I prayed that God would lead me to a church where I could get plugged in. At this church, God matured me through some relationships He placed across my path. This is also where my passion for youth developed.After graduating high school, I attended Moody Bible Institute where I received my degree in Youth Ministry. It was at Moody where God taught me about ministry not only in the classroom but also through my mentor, who God also used to teach me about discipleship. God used him mightily to grow my passion for both youth and discipleship. I also met a very beautiful woman while at Moody - my wife, Christy.
I was given an opportunity to serve with LT during the summer before graduation. It was an amazing and challenging experience that helped me see what God has wired me for. After much prayer and talking with family and friends I accepted a full-time position with LT.
As you can imagine both Christy and I were pretty excited to find LT and join on. We believe in taking students out of there comfort zone into another world and help show the way to live for Jesus. We know that leadership is a key aspect for students to understand and experience to fulfill the great commission. Discipleship no matter how short is exactly what LT does on trips. LeaderTreks was exactly what we were looking for.
We are so excited about fulfilling LT’s mission statement: developing leaders to fulfill the great commission.

Summit is part of the full time community at LeaderTreks. It is a hands on opportunity to learn cutting edge leadership skills, develop personally, grow spiritually and become a leader in the Kingdom of God.
Summit is a two year full time commitment, during that time Summiteers learn leadership through experience.
Summit is a part of the ministry and work of LeaderTreks in Carol Stream IL, just outside of Chicago.
The goal of Summit is to help develop you as a leader in God's Kingdom. We firmly believe that God's desire is to transform the world, and that his only plan to do that is you - the body of his Church.
