I was raised in the southern suburbs of Paris, France, as a missionary kid, exposing me to and giving me a passion for cultural diversity and ministry. We returned to the States when I was 15, which was a major transition for me. God used it in my life to deepen my relationship with Him—I had acknowledged my need for a savior at a young age, but this was His challenge to me to trust Him as the lord and provider of my life. The following years were a season of tremendous growth as I participated in youth outreach and missions trips.
I was blessed to attend Wheaton College for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, about a decade apart from each other, which gave me a lot of life learning experience in between. My masters program, Christian Formation and Ministry, can be summed up with the following quote from Robert Mulholland’s Invitation To A Journey, "When spirituality is viewed as a journey,...the way to spiritual wholeness is seen to lie in an increasingly faithful response to the One whose purpose shapes our path, whose grace redeems our detours, whose power liberates us from crippling bondages of the prior journey and whose transforming presence meets us at each turn in the road...holistic spirituality is a pilgrimage of deepening responsiveness to God's control of our life and being." (12) That is the journey I am on, and I continue to marvel at God’s grace at each turn.
The thread in my life has been a love for youth. Over the years, I have volunteered in youth ministry at my church, taught, mentored and discipled students at Black Forest Academy (a missionary kid boarding school in Germany), and mentored Wheaton College student leaders in the Student Activities Office. I believe my purpose is to grow closer to Christ, and bring others with me on that journey. As I got to know more about LeaderTreks, that is very much their heart-beat, and so I’m excited to join their mission to develop leaders to fulfill the Great Commission. In His mercy, God has not only led and prepared me for this two-year venture with LeaderTreks, but I know He will continue to equip, stretch and teach me so much more about what it means to depend on and follow Him.
I am keenly aware of and eternally grateful for the team of supporters that have joined me in this calling and are serving right alongside me by providing critical financial and prayer support! I wouldn’t be here without you!
